Stanley Isbell

Stanley Leon Isbell passed away peacefully at his home in Chatsworth, California, on Saturday, January 22nd, 2022, after battling cancer for over 30 years. He was born on November 14, 1940 in Indiana to Ken and Mary Isbell. He moved to California at age 7, where he attended and graduated from Banning High School in Wilmington. Following High School, Stan served 2 years in the United States Army. Stan married Betty Nichols in 1963 and together they raised three daughters.
Stan was a career firefighter for the City of Culver City, California, serving for 30 years and retiring in 1993 as the Assistant Fire Chief. His favorite activities included having lunch with his fellow retired firefighters, camping, houseboating, woodworking, and his favorite off-roading trips exploring the western deserts. Stan was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he held many callings and enjoyed service to others.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Mary Isbell, his sister Wanda Brown (Bill) and his grandson Kaevon Salehi.
Stan is survived by his wife Betty, daughters Janet Salehi (Ahmad) of West Hills, Laura Tankenson (Dave) of Agoura Hills, and Bonnie Cook of Agoura Hills. Stan also leaves behind 5 granddaughters, Jennifer, Sara, Sydney, Shelby and Quincy.
He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Roosevelt Memorial Park in Gardena, California. A celebration of life memorial will be held at a later date.
