Camille Kolodziej

Camille Marie Therese Kolodziej was born on March 16, 1943. She transitioned peacefully on December 9, 2023 surrounded by close family and friends.

Camille, a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, is survived by her children Joseph, Anna , Josh, their spouses Suttapa, Manu, and Wendie, her six grandchildren Ravi, Troy, Pria, Finn, Bowie and Alize, and her beloved Brother-in-Law, David Miller.

Camille was born to her loving parents Anna and Walter Kolodziej in Cicero, Illinois. She was sister to Ted and Marcy,  both of whom have passed.  It was in Cicero that she met her best and lifelong friend, Pat. They met in Catholic School kindergarten and their friendship stayed strong for over seventy-five years.

It was in Illinois that Camille met Edward Miller, who became her husband and father of her three children.  Edward passed away in 2022, also at 80 years of age.

Camille had a variety of careers during her lifetime including being a banker, a record label owner, and caregiver to severely disabled adults and children.  She loved music, especially jazz and blues, and had her own radio show in Pismo Beach, CA called the Night Train. Her on-air name was Chicago Camille.

While living in Pismo, Camille went on vacation to Jamaica. She knew instantly that Jamaica was where she wanted to spend her life. She sold everything and moved to Jamaica in 1997 She loved the clean air,  delicious foods, calm waters and white sand beaches of Negril.  There she met Rickey, who became her close friend. . They supported and loved each other, but we hope Rickey is not sacrificing any goats in her honor.

Camille was a beautiful, kindhearted woman who often ended her calls or meetings with family, friends, and strangers by saying, “I love you with all my heart.”

We love Camille with all of ours.

The Celebration of Camille’s life will be held January 13th, 2024, 11AM at the North Hollywood Church of Religious Science, 6161 Whitsett Ave. North Hollywood, CA 91606
