Elvira Leontina Petrisca, 86, cherished mother and grandmother, answered the call to join our Lord on September 24, 2019 as a result of a long, extended illness.Elvira was born in Sibiu, Romania, on April 27, 1933. She emigrated to the U.S. with her parents at the age of one and traveled back to her native Romania at the age of seven. When she was fourteen she returned to the U.S. and lived in both Michigan and California. She was a long time resident of Thousand Oaks at the time of her passing.
Our beloved mother taught us all to appreciate the beauty of life even in the simplest of things, with her gentle, yet loving strength of character. Her devotion to her family and her faith shone like a brilliant light until she was called home by our Lord to join her mother and father in Heaven. She was surrounded by family on the day of her passing as she entered into eternal peace.
She is survived by her four children, Nicholas, Mary Ann, Rosana and Isabela, her brother John, as well as twelve grandchildren.
There will be a viewing/commemoration from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Crawford Mortuary, followed by a Memorial Service for the immediate family on Monday, September 30, 2019, at Oakwood Memorial Park in Chatsworth. A graveside memorial service will immediately follow.
Rest in peace Elvira, you’ve walked into the light and now you’re home. You will forever be in the hearts of your children and grandchildren.
