Lessa Barnett

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Lessa Irene (Jarvis) Barnett on October 26, 2023. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. Lessa is survived by her children: April [Eric] Vegtel, Andrea [Geovanni] Perez, Carmel Abernathy, Bill [Allison] Barnett; siblings: Charlotte Phillips, Fred [Angela] Jarvis, Tim Jarvis, Roscoe [Julie] Jarvis, thirteen grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
Lessa's two great passions in life were reading and her family. As children, our weekend activities would often involve trips to the library where our mother would eagerly share all her favorite stories with us. Many of our fondest memories of our mother came from those trips to the library. Her greatest legacy was not to give us the gift of reading alone, but also the joy and excitement that comes from learning and then sharing that learning with others. Today, Lessa's children and grandchildren are inspired and blessed by her love and legacy.
Thank you, Mom. You didn't just give us the world you gave us thousands of worlds. We love you forever and always for all eternity.
