Melvin Louis Domaloan died on 11/22/2021 at 2:11 a.m. at Northridge Hospital in Northridge, Ca from complications leading to heart failure. He was 75 years old.
Born on December 6, 1945 in Pahala, HI.
Melvin was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii. He is the son of Pablo and Catalina Domaloan and is the youngest of four brothers-Paul, Patrick, Gordon and one sister-Anette.
Melvin grew up in Naalehu, HI and after graduating from Ka’u High School he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served as a Sergeant and Engineer in the Vietnam War.
Later moving to Los Angeles, CA he graduated from college and worked as a Mechanic A
for Rapid Transit District (RTD)for 25 years.
He is remembered as a hardworking man who wore sleeveless white coveralls and drove a bright orange International Scout.
He married Karen Domaloan on May 15, 1977
and they had three children and lived in
Simi Valley, CA.
Melvin was a one of a kind person that everyone naturally loved. He was a loyal husband, a devoted Dad, a cherished Papa, a favorite Uncle, and had many friendships that he truly treasured most.
Humble and nostalgic, Melvin loved Hawaiian music and had a great sense of style and humor. He was a simple and strong man.
Melvin is predeceased by his son Michael Domaloan. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Karen Domaloan, two daughters Mandy Lee Domaloan, Nicole Catalina Domaloan, and four grandchildren, Makoa Ihilani Winston, Malik Amir Winston, Malcolm Michael Domaloan and Mason Melvin Domaloan.

There will be a memorial celebration of life to be held at his home in Chatsworth, CA.

This is a Hawaiian style event for all family and friends. We ask that you feature your finest aloha attire and if you would like to bring a pupu, pastry, or dessert that would be lovely but is not required.
Dinner and drinks will be provided.
